At Florida Eye Clinic, we dedicate ourselves to enhancing the quality of life for every individual we treat by helping each patient see his or her best. We are committed to responding compassionately to our patients' individual needs and to achieving the highest standards of eye care throughout life.
Since 1973, The Florida Eye Clinic has been serving patients across Central Florida with 10 convenient locations and a state-of-the-art 30,000 square foot facility in Altamonte Springs. Your vision is our priority, and our mission is helping you see with your personal best vision.
We're proud to offer the breakthrough FDA-authorized light therapy that's changing lives by restoring vision in most patients.
No special preparation is required. You can eat normally, take your regular medications, and drive yourself to the appointment.
Unlike many eye procedures, there's no need for eye dilation or numbing drops, so your vision will remain clear throughout your visit.
You'll be comfortably seated in a chair similar to a standard eye exam setup. A specialized light delivery device is positioned in front of your eye, but never touches your eye directly.
The treatment feels like looking at a gentle, warm light, and many patients find it quite relaxing. Each session typically lasts just 9-12 minutes per eye, during which you'll simply look straight ahead while the precise light wavelengths do their work.
Most patients report the treatment as completely comfortable, with some describing a slight warming sensation. There's no pain, pressure, or discomfort.
You can blink normally throughout the procedure, and many patients actually find the experience soothing.
You can immediately return to all normal activities with no restrictions or recovery time needed. Your vision will be unchanged, allowing you to drive home safely. Some patients schedule treatments during lunch breaks and return directly to work.
Valeda photobiomodulation therapy is specifically designed for patients diagnosed with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). You may be an excellent candidate if you have been diagnosed with dry AMD, are experiencing vision changes due to macular degeneration, want a non-invasive treatment option without injections, or are looking to take proactive steps to preserve and improve your remaining vision.
The first step is a comprehensive eye examination to assess your candidacy for Valeda treatment. During your consultation, your eye doctor will review your complete eye health history, current symptoms, and visual goals to determine if this revolutionary therapy is right for you.
Most patients with dry AMD are excellent candidates, and treatment works best when started as soon as possible after diagnosis.
